Borrowed Bassinet

Michael and I are fortunate enough to be borrowing a beautiful bassinet from some family friends and I wanted to explain the bassinet's significance. In 2008, Michael's friend and roommate, Collin, passed away and we have since developed a great relationship with his parents. We visit them in Montana for an annual celebration of life, and the last time we were there they offered us use of Collin's bassinet. For years now it has been passed around to different members of their family and to close friends every time a new baby arrives. And after each family is done with the bassinet, they write the name of the child who has just used it on the underside. We feel so blessed to be included in such an amazing tradition and Zoey is making the most of her turn :)

It's such a beautifully crafted bassinet. It can either swing or there is a latch that locks it in place.

When we first got it we put it next to the window so Zoey could get some indirect sunlight to help with her jaundice. That's still the perfect place for it; she loves it!

It's going to be a special day when it's our turn to write "Zoey Rae" on the underside of the bassinet and return it to the Kecks, so they can pass it on to the next new baby.
