After resting for a bit, we all got dressed for church and headed to downtown Sumner for a late lunch at The Buttered Biscuit. This is one of my absolute favorite places to have breakfast, brunch, lunch...anything, really! As a part of our "celebrate Valentine's Day whenever and however we can" approach this year, we decided to do one more "special" thing for ourselves. Unfortunately, we somehow managed to forget that Zoey no longer does well in restaurants, and the whole experience was quite exhausting! We took turns eating (since we don't live in Quiet Child Fairytale Land, Zoey refused to sit in the high chair and use her "inside voice"), but once it was my turn to eat and I took my first bite, it was well worth the chaos! And, as usual, everyone loved Zoey and didn't seem the least bit bother by her outbursts.
I guess it's probably never as bad as we think it is, since we pretty much bend over backwards to keep her content, but that's because I refuse to be that parent that just gives up and lets their child invade everyone else's space (physically and audibly). Even the biggest "kid lover" can get annoyed when someone else's child is crawling around their feet and screaming so loud they can hardly hear themselves think.
Oh well. From now on, taking her out to eat with us will only be out of necessity and on special occasions!
**Zoey used a bit more of her sign language/words today when she attempted to sign and say "All Done". She raised her hands in the air and said "Aah Duh!" :) **
